This Privacy Policy explains how Canpol Manufacturing Ltd (“Canpol”, “we”) collects, uses and protects personal information of wholesale customers in Canada and the United States. Canpol sells exclusively to the trade (florists, retailers and event designers).
Who we are
Canpol Manufacturing Ltd, 925 Mid-Way Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5T 1T9, Canada, with a U.S. distribution centre at 315 Shawnee North Dr, Suwanee, GA 30024-2291, is responsible for the personal information described here.
What we collect
When you open a wholesale account, place an order or contact us, we collect: contact name, company/store name, business email and phone, shipping/billing address, tax identification number, and order history. We also collect limited technical data through cookies (see Cookies below).
How we use it & consent
We use your information to verify and manage your trade account, process and confirm wholesale orders, arrange invoicing and shipping, and respond to enquiries. We process personal information with your consent and as permitted under Canada’s PIPEDA and Quebec’s Law 25. We send commercial emails only with consent (CASL) and you may unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies and your choices
On your first visit a banner asks which cookies you allow, in three categories. Strictly necessary cookies (shopping session, secure login, language and your cookie choice) are always on. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are set only if you allow them. Marketing cookies (advertising measurement and Google Signals, see below) are set only if you allow them. Until you choose, Google tags run in a restricted mode that stores no cookies (Google Consent Mode). You can change your choice at any time with the cookie button in the bottom corner of every page.
Analytics (Google Analytics)
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand how the shop is used: pages viewed, products viewed and added to the cart, searches, orders (order number, products and value), how you reached us (e.g. a search engine or a link), and your device, browser and approximate location (city or region; Google does not store IP addresses). When you are signed in we also send your customer account number (never your name or e-mail), your market (Canada or USA) and account type, so visits from different devices are counted as one customer. With marketing consent, Google Signals adds aggregated, anonymous information about age range, gender and interests from visitors signed in to a Google account with ad personalisation turned on; we only see totals, never individuals. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Visits by our own staff are not measured. You can also opt out with Google’s browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Activity of signed-in customers
When you are signed in to your trade account, our staff can see which pages of the shop you are viewing, how long you have been on the site and what is in your cart, so we can help you quickly with an order or a question. For visitors who are not signed in we only count visits and the pages viewed, using an anonymous code that changes every day — no name, no cookie and no IP address is stored. This information is kept for 30 days and is not shared with anyone.
Order, account and password e-mails are sent through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon Web Services, Canada region). Newsletters and automated messages (for example a welcome e-mail, an order thank-you or a cart reminder) are sent only to wholesale customers and subscribers, and each one contains an unsubscribe link that works at any time; order and account e-mails continue after you unsubscribe. Our newsletters record whether a message was opened and which links were clicked, to measure what interests our customers. If an address no longer exists or a message is reported as spam, Amazon tells us and we stop sending to that address automatically.
AI assistant (chat)
The chat assistant on our pages answers product questions with the help of OpenAI. What you type in the chat is sent to OpenAI to produce the answer and is not used by OpenAI to train its models. Please do not enter payment details or other sensitive information in the chat.
Sharing & cross-border transfers
We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate — website hosting (dotCanada, Canada), e-mail delivery (Amazon Web Services), analytics (Google), the chat assistant (OpenAI) and carriers — under confidentiality obligations, and where required by law. Because we operate warehouses in Canada and the United States, your information may be processed in both countries and may be accessible to authorities under applicable law.
Retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and for legal/accounting requirements, then securely delete or anonymise it. We use reasonable physical, technical and organisational safeguards to protect it.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent. Residents of Quebec have additional rights under Law 25 (including data portability and de-indexing). California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, contact our privacy officer below.
